BUSH, BACH & BEYOND

[Box of Chocolates covers - just for fun]

COVER YOUR TRACKS!

Since the very beginning, Box of Chocolates has had a great time putting our own spin on songs from all kinds of genres.

Inspired by Effi’s favorite band, Pearl Jam, it all kicked off in 2016 with our first Christmas single, Winter Wonderland - a spontaneous recording with a bold punk attitude that, unfortunately, hasn’t quite stood the test of time. 😊

Over the following years, our Christmas songs stayed mostly in the pop universe, featuring classics such as ABBA’s Happy New Year and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You. But before long, we started venturing into experimental territory, e.g. with a blues-inspired rendition of Händel’s He Shall Feed His Flock and a jazzy take on Bach’s chorale Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier.

From Metallica to Knut Kiesewetter - Box of Chocolates stops at nothing!

MOST WUTHERING HEIGHTS!

So far, our most successful endeavor has been our video of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights.

More than 40 years ago, the wonderful Kate Bush floated across a meadow in a red dress, singing Wuthering Heights as a ghostly dancing apparition.

Ever since, around July 15, public parks and fields around the world have been taken over by delightfully bewildering flash mobs of Kate Bush lookalikes performing collective dances in tribute to the song. If you've never seen it, just search for “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” on YouTube.

Naturally, Box of Chocolates couldn't resist joining the fun. So we hopped into the grass ourselves and recorded a fresh rock version of Wuthering Heights - in the original key, and with a proper meadow included!

Check it out below!
